Spellbinding Cyprus - Why You Should Consider Relocating

Spellbinding Cyprus - Why You Should Consider Relocating

When it comes to travel, few things match your plane coming into land as you watch the shadows of clouds lazily drift across the Mediterranean Sea. And nowhere offers a more welcoming arrival than Cyprus, the 3rd largest island in this picturesque expanse of blue water. But this doesn’t just have to be a holiday. With the rise of digital nomads and remote working, more people are looking to rent property in Cyprus and make the move long term. If you haven’t experienced it for yourself yet, here are a few reasons why it makes sense to take the plunge and consider a Cyprus property rental. Only the enchanted need apply.

Sunny side up

If you’re looking to spot some penguins and polar bears, this isn’t the place! With an average temperature of 33 Degrees Celsius in the Summer, and barely dropping below the 20’s in the winter, Cyprus boasts around 340 days of sunshine a year and one of the warmest annual climates in the Med. So whether it's tanning on one of its beautiful beaches, or summer evening strolls after some local wine, this is one place that really caters to those who worship Helios (The god of the sun in greek mythology, in case you didn't know).

Same same but different

There are certain elements of life that make the adjustment after renting a property in Cyprus that little bit easier.

Cyprus is part of the EU, meaning migrating there is super easy if you hail from any other European country. This also means the benefit of having the Euro as the local currency. So no more mental arithmetic when trying to work out the cost of goods at the local supermarket or when renting a beach umbrella. Considering its large dependence on tourism, English is widely spoken across the island so there’s no need to stumble over your words in your poorest Greek accent when buying a cocktail on the beachfront.

We alluded to the beautiful beaches already, but it's worth reiterating. Scrolling through Instagram, were constantly inundated with images of crystal clear waters and bleached sands contrasting with movie star tans, cocktail in hand. And it's no surprise a large portion of these are snapped on any one of the 40 plus blue flag beaches that Cyprus has to offer. Most are easily accessible from almost anywhere on the island, meaning wherever you rent property in Cyprus, you’re not far away from sandy feet and a happy soul.

A little goes a long way

When it comes to cost of living, you’ll be hard pressed to find a more affordable part of Europe to settle and call home than Cyprus. Once the boxes are unpacked and you’ve hung all your paintings in your Cyprus property rental, you can start to explore the local scene, which means hidden delights, and secret spaces. Staying away from the tourist traps, because you know, you’re a local now, you will find that things like eating out, groceries and everything in between is priced very affordably. There are the obvious exceptions, given that it's an island and things like cars need to be imported.

All of the above, and more awaits those who choose to rent property in Cyprus. With an exceptional knowledge of the island, Quicklets agents are on hand to help you find your dream rental. I can hear you packing your bags already.
