Explore Wonderful Waters when Renting Property in Cyprus

As an island, Cyprus has beaches aplenty. This week Quicklets offers some choices to help you find the best one.

With a coastline that stretches some 640km, it's no surprise that Cyprus boasts it’s fair share of spots to drop a sun lounger, crack open the cooler box and take in the natural beauty of the ocean.

From secluded coves, to endless stretches of sand, there really is a spot for everyone (if you know where to look). Below we dive into a list of some of the beaches surrounding the southern part of the island which have captured our attention and seemed too good not to share. All within walking distance from some of the best properties for rent in Cyprus

Barely 15 minutes walk from Limassol city centre, facing sunrise on the most southern peninsula of Cyprus, lies Lady’s Mile beach. After renting property in Cyprus in one of the country's most popular cities, you can meander down past the Limassol salt lake and dip your toes into the Mediterranean sea.

This vast 8 kilometre stretch of sand was originally used by one the British big wigs during their occupation as a training ground for his horse called “Lady” (hence the name). Nowadays it plays host to several small cafe’s, bars and eateries which cater to all things coastal. Ice cold drinks, traditional foods and comfortable loungers can make even the worst photographer gain envy with their instagram feed.

Given its size, you can easily find a secluded spot on the warm, soft sand to doze off with a good book. Or if you’re feeling a bit more sociable, saunter into one of the bars or cafe’s, grab a cocktail and find yourself swaying to the eclectic mix of traditional and foreign music.

Travel about 20 kilometers to the West along the coast, and be prepared to have someone close by to help pick your jaw up off the floor after you set eyes on Kourion Beach.

Almost twice as long as Ladies Beach, there is even more space to dust off the deck chair and set yourself up to take in the beautiful scenery of one of Cyprus’s finest Blue flag beaches. With a mix of sand and pebbles underfoot, you can take a stroll with the sea lapping at your feet as you watch the windsurfers seem to lazily glide across the water. Turn around and you are presented with a panoramic view boasting white cliffs atop which sits the ancient Kourion Theatre and Stadium, from which the beach took its name. If you hadn’t thought of renting property in Cyprus before, this beach should help you make up your mind. .

Shallow and incredibly clear waters make this part of the coast great for families. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, the seaside taverns and cafes sprinkled along the sand provide food and drink to satisfy even the hungriest sun seeker.

You wont just fall in love with your new rental property in Cyprus, but with the beaches as well

Love is in the air (or in this case, the sea)

Barely another 10km down the road, hidden from view behind a screen of eucalyptus trees, is the birthplace of the Greek goddess of love Aphrodite, and the beach of the same name.

You can choose to navigate your way down the steep, well posted path, or take it easy and walk through the tunnel under the road. Either way, stepping onto the smooth pebbles and taking in a breath of the salty air will be a memorable experience. Shorter in length than both Kourion and Lady’s Mile, Aphrodite beach gives off a more secretive atmosphere, as though you have arrived in your own little paradise.

Exceptional views meet the eye at every turn, be it under the crystal clear, blue waters whilst snorkelling, or above with the bleached cliffs stretching along the west coast. For those with a touch of sentimentality about them, it’s said that in matters of love, you should swim around Aphrodite's rock three times for good luck.

It's time to take the plunge

Cyprusisland.net provides further information on these and the dozens of other beaches that scatter the Cyprus coastline. With choice like this, you can’t be blamed for immediately opening your browser and starting to look for a suitable property for rent in Cyprus. The good news is that the agents at Quicklets Cyprus are perfectly positioned to help guide you. So drop us a line, or if you’re already on the island, pop into our branch. Just shake the sea sand off at the door.
